# Spend by service

> Settings · Spend shows this month beside last month for every service, what each day cost, where the AI went and what each warehouse costs.

**Settings · Spend** shows what your workspace is spending, service by service: this month so far beside the whole of last month, what each day cost, which features the AI went on, and what each warehouse costs. It is the first tab in Settings, and the one Settings opens on. Everyone who can open Settings can see it. Every figure is in Australian dollars, at your workspace's prices.

## The month at a glance

![The four figures at the top of the Spend tab.](https://docs.sanda-os.com.au/media/spend-month.png "This month so far, where it is heading, last month and the comparison.")

| Figure | What it is |
|---|---|
| **Usage · *this month* so far** | What the month's usage comes to so far. It is the same figure as **This month so far** on **Settings · Plan & budget**, which your monthly budget is measured against, and it leaves out the platform fee |
| **On track for · *this month*** | Where the month is heading: the usage so far, the rest of the month at the pace of the last 7 days, and the platform fee. It is a forecast, not a bill |
| ***Last month* · whole month** | The whole of last month as its invoice prices it, usage and platform fee together |
| **Against *last month*** | This month's usage so far against last month's by the same day of the month |

## Spend by day

![The Spend by day chart, a column a day stacked by service.](https://docs.sanda-os.com.au/media/spend-by-day.png "A column a day, stacked by service.")

Each column is a day of usage, stacked by service: compute, storage, AI, sync runs and streams. Hover over a column to see that day's figure for each service and its total, or select the chart and move between days with the arrow keys. Choose how far back the chart looks: 7, 30 or 90 days. **Table** shows the same days as a table.

- **The platform fee is not in the columns.** It is billed by the month, so it is on the month figures above and in **This month and last** below.
- **Days run midnight to midnight UTC**, the days your invoice counts in.
- **Today is today so far.** The latest hours of compute are an estimate until their reading lands, 2 hours after each hour ends, so today's column can move a little. See [usage and metering](https://docs.sanda-os.com.au/billing/usage#compute).
- **The days add up to the month within a cent.** The month is priced line by line, as the invoice prices it, and each line is rounded once.
- **A day before your workspace began** is a pale band rather than a column.

## This month and last

Each service as its invoice prices it: compute, storage, AI, sync runs, streams and the platform fee, for this month so far beside the whole of last month, with a total for each.

## Where the AI went

**AI by feature** splits this month's AI by what asked for it: cherry, reports (the report canvas and the reports portal), sanda search, modelling (learning your data and drafting definitions, metrics and filters) and streams. **AI by model** splits the same spend by the model that answered, with the number of calls and the tokens it read and wrote. See [models and usage](https://docs.sanda-os.com.au/cherry/models-and-usage).

## By warehouse

Each warehouse's compute and storage so far this month, and the compute hours and GB-months behind them. AI, sync runs and streams belong to the workspace rather than to one warehouse, so they are not split here.

## On a trial

During the free trial, everything on the tab is what your usage is worth at your edition's prices, drawn from your free credit. Nothing is billed and there is no platform fee. The credit left is on **Settings · Plan & budget**. See [Free trial](https://docs.sanda-os.com.au/billing/trial).
